About us
The EUSCG is a joint coordination and advisory group established to coordinate the UAS-related standardisation activities across Europe, essentially stemming from the EU regulations and EASA rulemaking initiatives. The EUSCG provides a link to bridge the European activities to those at international level.
The membership of EUSCG is composed of:
- AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD)
- Alliance for New Mobility Europe (AME)
- ASD-STAN
- ASTM (Europe)
- Drone Manufacturers Alliance Europe
- Drone Alliance Europe
- EASA
- EUROCAE
- EUROCONTROL
- European Commission
- European Defence Agency (EDA)
- European Standardisation Organisations (ESOs): CEN, CENELEC, ETSI
- Global UTM Association (GUTMA)
- ISO
- Joint European Drone Associations (JEDA)
- SAE
- SESAR JU
The EUSCG may also invite adhoc attendees when addressing specific issues and establish a second level in the form of sub-groups to undertake more detailed and specific technical analyses. However, this should be limited to exceptional cases to complement and not replace the work of member organisations.

Tasks and Deliverables
The EUSCG shall:
- develop, monitor and maintain an overarching European UAS standardisation Rolling Development Plan (RDP), based on the standardisation roadmap developed by EASA and other organisations and inputs from the EUSCG members (including the military), and where needed other key actors in the aviation domain;
- facilitate the sharing of work among the Regulators and Standard Developing Organisations (SDO's) thus avoiding the risk of overlapping developments and gaps;
- monitor all relevant processes, resource availability and other related risks and issues;
- provide a forum to manage specific issues and resolution of conflicts;
- advise the EC and other organisations on standardisation matters.
In order to fulfil its tasks, the EUSCG will:
- facilitate the participation of various member organisations, in order to develop a comprehensive set of industry standards needed to cover the whole spectrum of UAS and their operations including U-Space;
- identify and share a common recognition of the fields of competencies of the various contributors in order to avoid the risk of overlapping activities;
- establish and maintain a continuous information flow between stakeholders to ensure that changes, delays, and new developments can be taken into account;
- maintain awareness of the status of upstream rationale and progress associated with identified needs for standardisation activities.
The main deliverable of the EUSCG is the European UAS Standardisation RDP.
The RDP is progressively updated to reflect the current situation. It also provides a method for the identification and discussion of overlaps and gaps, and as a basis for feedback to contributing organisations, to improve overall coordination of standards developments. The process should also identify the technical input from other sources (such as ICAO) into the standards plan.

Interfaces between EUSCG and other organisations
In addition to the above, it is recognised that interfaces at different levels with a number of organisations may be necessary to obtain relevant information, provide recommendations etc. No formal link should be set up, but rather such communication should be organised by the EUSCG Chair/Secretariat.
The EUSCG should take into account information regarding progress and particular issues communicated by international partners. An interface with ICAO and other international major stakeholders and SDO's (like RTCA and SAE) is therefore of high importance, without prejudice to existing European coordination arrangements.
A close link should be maintained to EASCG to raise mutual awareness and ensure consistency between the EUSCG RDP and the EASCG RDP.
